Hi!

Sorry for my late reply.

1. Living in Cergy is not that bad, as ESSEC provides student residence where International and French students gather and life on campus is very active! There are 120 associations you can join, sports and parties inside the school, so it's not boring at all. Then, what normally students do, is to move to Paris after one or two trimesters. Commuting is not that long (around 45 mins) and pretty safe, and life in Paris is great! Since you can design your whole timetable, you might spend only two days or theee days on campus and for the rest you're free.

2. Normally people that apply to the chair have at least one experience in luxury or fashion. The important thing when you apply is to show your passion through the interviews. I think an experience at TH is a good start!

First of all, Congratulations on getting admits to 2 competitive Masters in Management programs.
As far as the luxury market is concerned, both ESSEC and Bocconi are good options although ESSEC is at a marginally higher advantage.

Additionally, the economic climate of France is currently more favorable than that of Italy.
You also mentioned that your French is better than your Italian ; this will be an advantage in case you want to move back to canada post your degree.
Since French is one of the popular spoken languages in Canada, you could hone your language skills during your studies and become proficient in the language by the time you move to your home country.

Pay-scale and program currriculum are another two areas where ESSEC earns brownie points over Bocconi.
The placement salaries at ESSEC are comparatively higher than that of Bocconi.
Moreover, the program syllabus of ESSEC is more inclined towards general management whereas Bocconi’s MSc programme becomes more specific to solely marketing.
The job opportunities for both are practically the same, so unless you want to specilize completely in marketing , ESSEC’S MiM programme is a better bet.

To know more about the program, placement stats and other details about the both the schools, you can check out our school review page.
