I have problem with this kind of question, too long time.
following is my work order.
- read the argument, ignore details, find the main conclusion quickly. - find the bundle of complex evidence - create simple diagram quickly - go to the answer choices, eliminate the choice which shows the incorrect role of the first phrase. - when there are 2 remaining choices, eliminate the choice which show the incorrect role of the second phrase.
by following the above steps, I improve time and accuracy . However, the time is still 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Normally, I am stuck betwen 2 remaining choices because the choices are abstract.
pls, help, comment. thank you

Hi thang,
2:30 is fine!
Bold statement questions are rare. And most folks will tell you to take 2 minutes per CR question, but that's average. Ask yourself, then, if you see two Bold questions that take you an extra 30 second each, what techniques can you use for strengtheners, weakeners, etc. to make up that 1 minute on other CR problems?
As for getting stuck between two answer choices, your strategy of focusing on the first and second phrase isn't one I'd recommend. You need BOTH statements to answer the question correctly--predict what each bold statement does, then look for the match. If you have the right answer in mind, then distracting wrong answer choices won't be able to work their wiles on you!
