do I need to even spend time studying these questions?? aren't they experimental anyways?

Many experimental questions eventually become bonafide scored questions, and because boldfacers have been around for quite awhile, you might as well become familiar with them.

I encountered two on my last official test.

so, they might actually be scored on my test? whenever i see BF questions, I usually guess and move on to the next question. is this a bad strategy?

Try to answer every question to the best of your ability, experimental or not. The GMAT has evolved considerably over the last five years so nobody (other than the test makers) conclusively knows which questions are experimental or not. Please read my thread "Experimental questions having an impact on official scores?" in the GMAT forum if you would like to get some other opinions on this issue.

Don't worry about gaming the test for experimental vs actual questions. You are better off concentrating on each question for what it is. BF has been a hot topic lately, and I would not be surprised if they are actual questions (for points).
