Hi,
I have a GMAT score of 560 (Q44, V24) , which I believe is on a lower side of my category of Indian applicants. How much weight-age the ad-com gives to GMAT score? Other aspects of my profile are above average.I had given GMAT a month back as well and scored a poor 530. A gist of my profile:
Nationality : Indian
Gender : Female
GMAT score : 560 (Q44, V24)
TOEFL: 101/120
Undergraduation in : B.Tech (Information Technology)
GPA: approx 3.5 (70.22/100)
Work Experience : will complete 24 months in IBM India Pvt Ltd.
Achievments: Volunteer for Art of Living Institution, avid half marathon runner, organized events for college Technical Events, Air rifle shooter (mediocre level),received an award("Rising Star") from Employer Management for management for my hard work and dedication.
Which Universities can I apply to?? Or shall i take a chance on MS- MIS??
Please help!

The average GMAT score from year to year tends to hover around 540-550, so you're scoring right around the average. When it comes to Business Schools and/or specific programs of study, it's important to define WHY you want that degree. What are you going to use it for? How is it supposed to help you to achieve your professional goals? Once you've answered those questions, then you can find a School/Program/Degree that matches.
For many Business Schools, the GMAT score is the most important part of the application, but for certain Programs it's less important (than Work Experience or Essays, for example). It's the one part of the application that is universal for everyone though, so the GMAT score is an easy way for Schools to compare applicants to one another. The GMAT is a consistent, predictable Test, so with the right study materials and effort, you CAN train to score at a high level.
