After 3.5 months of preparation, and many painful days of balancing my demanding full time job and studying,
I took the GMAT recently and got a disappointing
590 (Q41, V31). AWA 5.5
SC was always my strong suite, during the practice tests, but on the day of the test, I consistently felt like there were two correct answers left and I had to pick one! Same story with CR.
I had used all the recommended materials: OG11, verbal and quant supplements, MGMAT SC bible, MGMAT tests, GMATprep
Following were my practice scores:
MGMAT free test: 670, Q42, V39
MGMAT test 1 : 650, Q42, V37
MGMAT test 2 : 630, Q34, V41
MGMAT test 3 : 680, Q46, V37
MGMAT test 4 : 650, Q40, V38
MGMAT test 5 : 700, Q45, V40
MGMAT test 6 : 720, Q47, V41
GMAT prep 1 : 670 (can't remember break up)
GMAT prep 1-retake : 750
GMAT Prep 2 : 690 (Q46, V40)
GMAT Prep 2-retake : 750 (Q48, V44)
I also took a few GMAT challenges , but never did well on them.
Now I have exhausted all the practice material. Nevertheless, I am planning to take the test again. Any suggestions on how to prepare will be much appreciated.
- What study materials can I use for my next attempt (reuse OG11, GMATprep etc)
- Any suggestions for my poor verbal?
- How long should I prepare for the next time?

Hang in there man. Your practice exam scores show that you are capable of scoring 650+. I think you just had a bad test day.
For quant - I would do the GMAT Club challenges. Do a lot of them even if you already completed some. You said you never scored well when you did these challenges.... so why don't you try doing them again and seeing if you improved. I think if you can get 85%+ on most of those challenges, you should be able to score 47+ on the real GMAT. Probably 49+.
For verbal - Get the PowerScore book for CR.. it really helped me. For SC, I'd suggest doing the SC1000 (just google for it and you can find it online). Focus on figuring out why the wrong choices are incorrect.
Take a few days and relax. Then come back to studying when you are feeling fully energized!

Yes, I agree with foodstamp. From your practice score it looks like you could have easily scored 650+. So take the score as product of a bad day and make up your mind to reappear for the test again.
For quant try to do all challenges and for verbal go for Powerscore CR bible. They are worth of every minutes you use on them.
