Hello Gmat Club,
I'm a non-native English speaker. I found the this website is so valuable. I have taken
MGMAT course, completed it in May. Took a two month break and resumed my prep from August. I have taken my first CAT exam and it was a disaster and I got 400.
Quant 36
Verbal 4 (I haven't completed the last 7 questions, ran out of time, I have actually got 20 questions correct, but I don't know why its 400, probably because I have left out the last few questions in verbal).
I have been prepping for GMAT on and off since April. I studied for 2 months and couldn't continue due to my work load. I have restarted in August. Completed 80% of math. Just now, I have started going through my CR. Haven't started RC.
Exam ResultsIn my quant exam, I have 5 to 6 of them answered correct, but don't why I have selected wrong answer choices. After reviewing answers and analyzing, I couldn't get answers for 2 questions. I could answer almost all of them. I have hurried up completed the exam 10 mins early.
In Verbal, I have got 4 RC's out of which two of them, got it completely right. Third one was all wrong( because of time constraint and here is where everything fell apart). In the fourth RC, I have got 1 answer correct and the rest of them wrong.
SC : Here I haven't done well at all. Its been a long time, since I have revised and in-spite of that, I have taken the exam.
CR : I haven't completely gone through all of the CR stuff, but I felt like, I did reasonably in answering. But have to improve alot in this one too.
Study PlanI'm studying 2 hrs a day ( mon, tue, wed, fri) and 6hrs a day in the weekends.
I'm planning to take a mock test every weekend.
My plan is to finish up studying Math in this week and concentrate more on Verbal, because I'm very weak here.
From next week onwards, it will be 70% verbal and 30% math.
After taking the exam, its frightening, worry some and the worst part is loosing faith and becoming less confident. I know that I'm not well prepared, but with the kind of prep that I already had, my expectations were scoring at least 600 or better.
I'm an average guy with a lot of high hopes for GMAT.
I will be writing a brief summary every week to seek advice.
My exam is scheduled for Sep 27th. Any advice from the experts would greatly benefit me.
Thanks in Advance.
RV.
