Booth EMBA: Should You Write the Optional Scholarship Essay?


You will note as you prepare the Booth Executive MBA application that you can write several optional essays. One of those essays asks you to explain why you should receive a scholarship. The school indicates they will consider you for a scholarship regardless as to whether you write this short essay.

So, should you write that optional essay? Yes!

Imagine that the cohort is filling up and there are a limited number of scholarships remaining. Those candidates who took the time to craft the optional scholarship essay can gain an edge over those who did not. Those who did not may come across as indifferent.

This optional scholarship essay is short, but pack it full of important, compelling information. Booth sometimes gives $25,000 scholarships, so a little essay can go an awfully long way.
