My interviewer at UNC just called to give me the news that I got into the MBA program there.

I already got an acceptance from BU with a $70,000 scholarship ($35,000 /yr)

Now I'm in quite a dilemma on which program to choose.

I am basically looking at pursuing an MBA specialising in Marketing & a bit of entrepreneurship.

Would love to hear your points of view and get some more information it would make it easier to make a decision.

KF has a much better reputation with recruiters than BU. The $$ is tempting, but the gap between a top 20 and a top 40 school is too wide to justify taking the scholarship.

If you were comparing Kenan-Flagler with the likes of Mendoza or Fisher, I'd be tempted to take the money but BU is just so far off from Kenan-Flagler. I'd give yourself a pat on the back for getting into KF and accept their offer. :)

Thanks guys. It's going to be a difficult decision to take. Although I have yet to hear about admission details from KF since I just received a call from my interviewer this eve (I'm an international applicant).

Going to have to contemplate hard before taking the final call.

One other point to keep in mind for me is adjusting to a small town. i have lived in a huge city my whole life and adjusting to a small town can be a bit of a challenge. Also one of my friends pointed out that Boston's proximity to NYC is a n advantage when it comes to job hunting. So a lot of factors to keep in mind of course the $$ being a huge one.

Thanks for the weigh in it helps. I'll try and see if there are any alumni / current students from both schools whom I can chat with.

True, but keep in mind that given' KF reputation, companies will come to YOU.

True, but keep in mind that given' KF reputation, companies will come to YOU.

That's true but a large number of companies coming to KF are Tech companies and that is not a field I am looking for. However I would like to know what students who want to look at particular companies which don't come to campus do at KF. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find anyone within my acquaintances or friends of friends who is at KF. So if you know of any particular Gmatclubber from KF do let me know. I'd love to get a first hand perspective if you know what I mean.

For BU they have put me in touch with a current 2nd year student who is helping me with a lot of questions I have plus I also know a few people who are at BU albeit some in slightly different courses like MS Finance but at least I am able to get an honest perspective. I don't have that for KF. I am hoping the admissions office will help get me in touch with someone.
