Hey guys!
So, I had this question on my mind for quite sometime now. What is the brand value of a Booth MBA outside the United States? I never came across any post that spoke about this explicitly. From my research, I understand that Booth is a highly ranked school and provides excellent opportunities for people graduating from there. But, as an international student, I had never heard of the school before I started doing my research on B-schools. Will a Booth MBA help me if I am looking for international opportunities outside the US?
Thanks
I think the response you may be looking for is broadly, "is the school well reputed and will it help me get an awesome job" for which the answer is yes. I'm not an international student but will share my opinion on this a little different from what you may be expecting.
You probably have a specific field of interest after finishing the MBA and some short and long term career plans (greater than "I want an awesome job") I would recommend identifying the firms you want to work for then finding people who currently work for them through LinkedIn or other means such as alumni networks through current students (if you can get a few to help you) and see where those people went to school and how they got to where they are. If you're unable to find many people in your research doing the ideal job you want to do that are Booth Alums, then it may not fit "the process that you should follow"
Broadly speaking, the Booth degree will give you a brand when you least expect it, and I'm certain international firms that work with the United States are well versed with who Booth is. From my experience in the United States, people outside of the business world rarely know both like they know Harvard and Wharton - surprisingly they know Wharton better than Stanford. But in the business world, majority of people from my experience know Booth. Perhaps the same may be the case internationally?
Regardless, I highly recommend you apply as its a phenomenal institution and probably will help your endeavors
