I know there are a million topics on this already - but since I tried everything I could find I just have to ask again.
I am stuck in the 650-700 range and want to get to 740.
My verbal ranges 80-99
My quant ranges 45-75 (obviously the problem area)
I have had an extremely tight timeframe (1 month) to prepare, so was putting in 7-12 hours a day. I know people say you get tired if you study too much but I'm a banker and the hours are nothing new (could this be my mistake - thinking I'm not tired when my brain is?).
So in total I've put in like 300 hours. Read the 10 books by MGMAT, took notes from each one of them, learned the content, prioritised quality over quantity and finished the whole of OG, QR and GMAT Prep (reviewed and made flashcards on all the tricky problems).
My today's MGAMT test is 670. My last one was 700. What am I getting wrong?

With all the practice -- particularly in quant -- clearly, you should be familiar with the types of questions. Yet -- here and there -- you are getting some wrong.
You might be in a situation in which you see a familiar-looking question and you still get it wrong. It is important to understand the many variations around a core problem on the GMAT -- so that you know what to do when next time you see something similar -- but different.
That's how we cover our material -- variations off of core math questions. For example -- with rates -- you've got trains moving away from each other -- towards each other -- perpendicular to each other. If you study one and not the other -- what happens when you get the other question on the exam?
We believe the best way to understand the math part -- is to really understand every possible way they can ask the same core question. So be sure you are confident in all the main core questions -- probability of selecting people from a committee, number sequences -- odds vs evens vs different ranges, movement rates, work rates (working together), mixtures, odd/even exponents, etc.

Hi and thanks for your reply. This is fair and is something I tried doing as much as I could. Let me ask this: is it worth practicing "easy" 600-700 questions or stepping up and practicing "hard" 700-800 questions at my level? Some people say the latter are too specific and I only have a couple of weeks left before the D-day.
