Big timing issue . My verbal started nicely with 5 questions of sc ans cr and then got bold faced after which it was abstract RC back to back two in number and lost huge time here . I think in empower GMAT ill get the strategies correct

Hi coolrahine,

I'm sorry to hear that Test Day didn't go as well as planned. Your practice CAT scores clearly show that you're capable of scoring at a much higher level. When these types of big score drops occur, the two likely "causes" involve either something that was unrealistic during practice or something that was surprising (or not accounted for) on Test Day.

If you can answer a few questions, then we should be able to figure this out:

When you took your CATs:
1) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT (including the Essay and IR sections)?
2) Did you take them at home?
3) Did you take them at the same time of day as your Official GMAT?
4) Did you ever do ANYTHING during your CATs that you couldn't do on Test Day (pause the CAT, listen to music, etc.)?
5) Did you ever take a CAT more than once?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hey coolrahine

In case you haven't seen, the GMAT Timer is just one of many features we already have in the Practice Pill Platform: www.gmatpill.com/gmat-practice-test/

You can time yourself for each question, get a video explanation explained the GMAT PILL way, and post questions / get answers to your questions.

Best of luck - and we are here to help.

Will the empower gmat booster be good as ive heard raving reviews anx i wanna give again by end of August . Also being an Indian have given the CAT conducted by IIM s earlier and in verbal had got 99.6% ile plus , thus am clueless now , sincere help reqd

Hi coolrahine,

You will certainly benefit from using additional materials to study. However it is equally important to look over your incorrect answers and understand why you missed a question. You can gain a lot of insight from looking over missed questions (not just the answer but understanding why what you chose was wrong). The first step should be to identify whether your weakness is SC, RC, CR, or a combination of these. After you've identified the area (s) of difficulty, do a review of the concepts and strategies, followed by practice questions to solidify your knowledge of the topics you've studied.

I hope that helps!
