Is this my imagination or is MGMAT Quant extremely difficult? I've never scored below 49Q on an official GMAT product (GMATPrep, GMAT Focus) and have scored up to 51Q, but I recently purchased the MGMAT tests and my scores thus far and 45Q and 43Q. This is destroying my confidence going into the test next week. Have any others had this experience? I'm wondering if it would be better to forego MGMAT entirely at this point.

MGMAT quant destroyed me too. From my experience it was harder than the real thing but it served as a great prep tool. I think i was consistently in the 43-46Q range for MGMAT but was Q50 on the actual so you're not crazy for thinking the MGMAT quant is difficult. I think the GMAT product scores are a better indication of the real test. I'd recommend using the MGMAT this week but switching back to GMATPrep or GMAT Focus in the couple days prior to your exam. Good luck!

CPA2MBA,

This is exactly what I've done. Now hitting ~50Q (sometimes 49 sometimes 51). We'll see how it goes tomorrow!

I often hear this complaint from students, but other students go in and have a hard time recreating their home performance. For some reason, it seems to vary from one person to the next. Since our quant is not identical to the real thing, I suppose it makes sense--it all depends on where your strengths lie. The same is true for verbal.

Having said all that, GMATPrep is the best measure (aside from the real test, of course). If your 49-51 scores are from recent first attempts (as opposed to retakes), then that's more likely the range you will score in on test day.
