Hi all,
I just finished a 2 yr IB program and will be transitioning to an MM private equity firm. Many people I've spoken to tell me that Bschool isn't worth the opportunity cost. Given compensation for a pre-mba associate would be ~250-300k, some had said that I may end up with even a lower salary after graduation. So instead of applying to bschool, I should lateral to another fund that promotes without MBA. Anyone else have opinions on this? Thanks.
Well, in this case it's not good for my business, but...

If you are in a position in which most post-MBAers would be envious of, and at a salary to match, what do you need an MBA for?
You can always decide to do one later if it becomes "necessary" for advancement. And knowing a bit how things work, it might also be possible for you to get sponsored for a PT or EMBA later down the line if you want the knowledge and degree.
Best,
JF
