I agree with Sunny - non GMATPrep CATs generally contain faulty OA/OE/question types that may actually hurt you. Also, although there may be some repeats in the GMATPreps, if you keep improving the questions do indeed get tougher and if you redo each problem, even though you know the answer, you train your brain to think like the GMAT (and, sadly, that in a way is the goal here - to think, talk, act like them so you can out smart their little tricks they throw at you)

Good luck and as several have mentioned in the past, its not quanity but rather quality.

I would definitely do the Princeton Review tests. They were the most accurate non-official predictors for me.

I used Veritas - have to buy their tests but they're pretty decent. The veritas package also included 800score, arco tests.

800score is waaay too easy on the verbal and waay too difficult on the quant - that being said, I think the challenging quant helped me with my pacing/timing quite a bit; I just didn't use it as a predictor of the actual test.

The Arco was mediocre - quant was a bit more difficult than the actual test, verbal easier than the actual. The questions in both sections were of subpar quality. If it hadn't come with the veritas package, I wouldn't have spent $$ on it.

Have you tapped into the MGMAT challenge question banks? those were great for quant!

hope this helps!

Hmmm, how about PowerPrep? They're just an older version of the GMATPrep with a different interface. I also agree with the other posters' suggestion of Princeton Review. I thought the PR CATs were great practice for me when I was studying for the GMAT.

you can try McGraw Hill Prep for Gmat book (not sure of exact title). they have 6 CAT test on a CD. The only bad thing is they only tell you the percentile ranking. (for example verbal= 65 % but no V score)

warning: the math section has good data sufficiency but as for the problem solving...not reflective of gmat questions....everything is entirely word problems (good practice if you are bad at those)

Arco Tests

Kaplan Tests (online version 1 is free)

Good luck!!!! :)

To those who purchased the new GMAT Focus, what would you say is the difficult level of these tests? Do the questions overlap with OG 11 or the Verbal supplement?

GMATPrep can be rewritten dozens of times. It's the only accurate CAT out there, in that it uses the same algorithm that will grade you on test day.

The others are good for the basics and getting you up to a low 600, but if you want to score 700+ stick to only official material.

Again, improperly formulated questions will teach you incorrect concepts that will cost you dearly on the GMAT.

GMATPrep
PowerPrep
Paper Tests (9x)
OG10th Ed, 11th Ed
SC1000

Are more than enough to score 800.

I'd go with PR - their questions seem easier, but their scoring is pretty accurate in comparison to Kaplan and some other tests. I always think it's good to get a good score indicator - but I am easily discouraged if I see a bad score (even if the test is known to be more difficult than the real thing).

Powerprep has a lot of OG repeats, I remembered most of them so I felt that test was an inaccurate scoring for me.
