REASSESS YOUR FIT AND CREATE CHECKLIST-
Check if you fit into the class profile of your desired schools “statistically”
Are you on the lower end, sweet spot or higher end of the work experience?
Is the school open to people from your background?
Check more Alumni like you.
Is the culture of the place suited to your personal preference? I know some people for whom Los Angeles, my favorite city, would be a literal nightmare. Knowing yourself goes a long way. If you just went to a city that you perhaps regret, you’ll keep blaming yourself, be unhappy, and be stressed, eventually affecting your grades and hence your placement.
Is there a carbon copy of you? If the school has had a person in your exact position who went to the same school and got to the particular position you aspire, don’t forget to mention that. Thanks to the filter option, you can find those people easily on LinkedIn.
Get the Transcripts. Order at least 3 copies (one to send, one to keep, one as a backup)
Freak yourself out by looking at the cost of attendance of your target schools. Know that there are loan companies that provide financial support. But know the return of investment and how many years it will take to pay off the loan. Try to save as much as possible for the Business School, you’ll need it.
If you want to increase your odds for scholarships, apply to lower ranked school for which you fit yet are meritorious enough to get one.
