Hello,
I have 4 years of IT experience but I quit my job in Nov 2019 to start my own venture. It did not work out well and now I have a gap of 1 year. I have now a job offer in my hand for an IT company. I am planning to take it till I get accepted into a b-school.I am planning to apply for sep 2022 intake,so will it look bad on my application that I returned to my old job after my startup failure?

The time that you spent working in the venture (even if it was not successful in the end) will be counted as work experience too, so your gap might not really be a year long. You should take the job offer from the IT company too. There is no problem at all in returning to your old job after your startup didn't work out. Failures, in fact, can be valuable learning experiences.

Gaps in work experience can be tricky. This is the type of thing that can be explained in an optional essay, however.
Anything that shows you stayed busy within that time frame can help. I would have to know more about the logistics of your situation, but I imagine there is a way explain your startup failure so that it is not a big red flag to the admissions committee. As mentioned above, your efforts can be counted as work experience even though the outcome was not what you had likely hoped for.
