By When should i be done with GMAT to apply for R1 of admission proces

Hi

I want to know when will Round 1 application process start and by when should i be done with GMAT so that I can have ample time to comfortabley apply in Round 1 of the GMAT process.

Some people may already be gearing up for R1 apps and/or studying for a GMAT attempt concurrently. The deadlines for R1 for some of the top schools are in September. NYU Stern, for example, had an R1 deadline of Sept 15th in 2022. Fair to say a person can expect something similar for 2023.

Might be worth checking out the websites of the schools you're interesting in to see what the previous your round deadlines were.

Schools' round 1 deadlines range from early September to mid October.

Ideally, you'd be done with the GMAT at least a few weeks to a month ahead of the earliest deadline of any of you target schools. So, people planning to apply in round 1 typically seek to have their scores by sometime in August, and for the earlier deadlines, by the beginning of August.

Hi desertEagle,

Most Programs have a Round 1 deadline sometime in Late August or September (although individual Programs might set a different schedule for their application Rounds - so you should make sure to properly research each Program to be sure). While it's understandable that you would want to be 'done' with the GMAT so that you can focus solely on assembling your overall application, most GMATers have fairly active lives (juggling work, family, studies, etc.), so studying and working on your applications at the same time is not necessarily a bad thing (as long as you're keeping everything organized and working efficiently).

2 months before the deadline is ideal.

You can also check this tool which is pretty old but should give you a pretty good idea. You should be able to customize it based on your applications but keep in mind that none of the deadlines for next year unknown at this time but usually they are about the same. They start in mid September for most top business schools and then and then mid-October for the lower ranked ones
