Repeat after me: You are not allowed to bring ANYTHING except ID (which you MUST bring).

:P

However, the computer screen has a countdown timer you can activate.

are stop watches allowed? thanks

I am not sure where you will be taking your test, but I smuggled a few things in with me. I had my writst watch which as electronic. I also brought a pencil sharpener, but I asked to bring it in.

I was very official and stringent when I took TOEFL but then I realized that they did not really care if you have a watch or not, so I just did not bother to take it off. I did not really need to use it since there is a timer on the test, but things are flexible at some places.

Also the break between the sections is not exactly 5 minutes - I took about 15 or so, and I heard people taking 30 minutes to wanter around.

No, it does not.

They press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER or smth like that and it starts the test.

I think this is because it takes you a long time to check in/out and in such case you will have 1 min to use the bathroom - not exactly the time I need.

Thanks for the quick reply.
When i took the test, I ran to the toilet fearing that the test would start exactly after 5 min. I would have liked to have a breather for a few minutes.
I am retaking it very soon. Now I know I can afford to relax for while.

Did the test start by itself when you came back? or you don't remember.

PP starts by itself, but at the test center they control it.
