Calling admitted students for IE Global MBA Apr'17 Intake

Question

Reaching out to all the applicants who are applying to the April 2017 session of the Global MBA Program at IE Business School!

I just finished my interview and ieGAT's last week (luckily scored within the top 10% of the ieGAT test takers worldwide!!). So now waiting for an admissions decision (they said they would get back to me this coming week)!

Anyone have any idea how they evaluate Entrance Scholarships? I'm hoping to get one, but not sure how much they would offer me one to help me with the financial need (up to 40%)!

Just an update on my end.... I just received admission to the GMBA for April '17 intake!! But I didn't get any update on my scholarships that I had applied for... will wait out for their response.

I haven't heard much about this program from anyone - so I guess this program isn't as popular as I originally thought? Does anyone else want to share their experiences with this program or any inputs/feedback? Still trying to decide if this program is the right investment for me, because it's quite expensive for an online program.

Congrats for GMBA April intake. I am intrested in your program and thinking about applying for this GMBA. Could you possiblly share what questions ieGAT had and how the interview went. Your informtion is highly appreciated.

Hi 7jai et al,

I have just submitted my application for GMBA Apr 2017 intake. GMAT score 610 but strong international work experience.

How long did it take to get an interview call after submitting the application? 
I`m also working on a merit based scholarship application - it`s a challenge to draft an essay for this in 250 words!

Took 2 weeks from submission to receive date for interview.
Took another week for result for the interview.

What sort of questions did you have in the interview? How long did it take? 
Who was the innterviewer?

The interview was pretty straightforward for me and it lasted 45 minutes.
Please have your CV printed out - so that you can go through it in detail. This was a big chunk of the interview. The rest of the questions are the usual - why do you want to do an MBA , why IE, medium/long term plans, strengths/weaknesses with example etc. These standard questions are listed on most gmat/MBA guidance websites.

Interviewer went through CV and career progression. Tested communication skills by asking to share experiences. Tested Analytical skills and team work by questioning scenarios. 
Measured motivation by going through financial plan.
(I'm sure I'm forgetting something, if any specific doubt about interview in mind, pls shoot. Will try to answer)

I'm wondering how much the demand really is for this program, considering its price tag. and what recent graduates of this program are saying about the learning experience and also opportunities after graduation...

I am a newbie to gmatclub and thinking about IE Global MBA Apr'17 intake. Started filling the application (I know I am late in the game), the contact person at IE told me that they can expedite my application process so I am able to join in April.
Profile - 12+ yrs experience
Country - USA
Positives of the program - IE has got a great name and the cost of the program compared to the brand value is cheaper than most US schools. Wish me good luck and any advice on the application process.

The application itself takes some time to complete, especially if you want to submit very good essays..If they said they can expedite the admission process, id consider that a positive. Also you have more than average experience for this program..perhaps you could get away with less than amazing essays..

I would recommend submitting the application and scholarship request together, even if that delays the application submission date a bit. IE offers financial aid based on both merit and need to 40% of the applicants (more if you exclude those who don't apply!). This could potentially reduce the cost further - it did for me.

I was not able to talk to a lot of alumni, but I found the global MBA blog from lynne hoey on ft (google it) very useful to understand how stressful the program will be!

Thank You for the advice virus7. I am trying to do one Prezi, one Youtube video and an essay. Lets see how it all goes. I will also be taking IEGAT in Feb. Hope things will move smooth and fine.

Should I submit the application online and then immediately submit the application for scholarship? (online?)

Yes both can be submitted online. Advantage of submitting them together is that - they can evaluate and communicate both decisions around the same time (my hunch is that this also improves chances for scholarship grant if they really want you to accept a positive admissions decision).
