Are all applicants choosing Kelley only because of its Marketing program?

How is Kelley faring in Consulting/ General Management?

Are there any such applicants out there?

I want to apply to Kelley in R2 but now confused as I haven't seen too many discussions reg Kelley's non marketing strengths...

Any and all opinions are welcome...

I'm sorry man couldn't find time to update. No am looking more into consulting and IT. My interview was okay. I was interviewed by a second year student. I fumbled on one answer. Started and ended well but in the middle my nerves got me. Not very positive about the result. :(

Interviewer had my resume but not the essays. Questions asked:
1) It's cold today. How did you came here?
(Answered: I drove. We talked about weather,etc.)
2) Do you like Indiana? Indianapolis?
2) What do you do?
(Answered about my work - company, current project, current role)
3) Why MBA and why Kelley?
4) What is your style of management? How is the experience as a team lead?
(fumbled in first question)
5) Did you have an experience where you didn't perform upto your expectations?

Questions I asked:
1) Website does a great job in explaining life at Kelley but a first-hand description from a current student is always good to know. How is your experience at Kelley as a student?
2) Bloomington is a remote town. Does this affect the number of companies that visit here for recruitment?
3) More about academies? Are they assigned to you as soon as one joins Kelley or do students choose which one they want to associate with?

Had my interview today.. Through Skype. Interviewer was a second yr student.

Questions:
1) walk me through your resume
2) Short term and long term goals
3) Why MBA and Why Now?
4) WHy kelley
5) A time when I led a team
6) A time when things didn't go according to plan
7) A time when I had a unruly individual in team
8) Any feedback/ weakness that I have received from my manager and what I did to overcome it
9) An achievement which I am most proud of - could be either personal or professional

Questions that I asked the interviewer
1) How does the job market look for an international student either for an internship or after graduating.
2) Details on the KIPS program since the interviewer was planning to take that for the 2nd time.

You can count me for Round 2.

Does anyone happen to know when one has to make a final decision as to what academy one wants to go into? I see that the application asks you to provide your top choice(s) (up to 2) for academy, and also top choice(s) (up to 2) for major. The major doesn't really matter at the beginning due to the core classes, but my understanding is that you begin with academy stuff from day 1.

So....I was wondering when that decision was made?

I was digging into last year's forum... Dec 21st was the first post abt admission... wonder if tat will be the case tis year too:-O
Although, the adcom told me i should be expecting to hear back only around 15th of Jan! I had interviewed back in late October! Huh, the wait is absolutely killing!!!

Thanks for the congrats. I received an email about 30 minutes ago. The email is from the generic Kelley MBA email, but it is signed by James Holmen, the Admissions Director (i.e. his Administrative Assistant).

Great! I just got a Ding frm Tepper... So my only hope is Kelley:-O I was checking last year's forum, n even then the first admit was on Dec 21st (which was a Mon), but other R1 applicants had also got admits around Jan 15th... Hoping against hope now!!! So wen did u interview? I did a self-initiated interview on Oct 25th n then submitted my appl on Oct27th! Havent heard bk yet:( n u got ny $$??
