Is it just me or was the number of people getting calls exceptionally low today, especially from the Chicago area? Maybe a lot of people who got acceptances didn't bother posting on gmatclub? Does anyone who has looked at prior year's message boards more religiously than me know if any students who didn't get a call the previous day were admitted the following day, when formal notification takes place? I called the Admissions office at 4pm today and they said they weren't sure if calls were still being made, and obviously couldn't notify me of my status over the phone. I called again a few minutes ago and the office was closed (closes 5pm). I guess we'll all find out tomorrow, but I'm just anxious as I'm sure everyone who hasn't gotten a call is.
Grats to those already admitted!
Based on precedent, only a
handful of offers carry over to the next day. These are of course the exception and seemingly result from logistics quirks.
As to speculating whether today's admit numbers are small with more expected tomorrow, I don't see how the Booth admins would NOT have made all of the calls today.
For Round 1, let's assume Booth aims to fill ~30% of its 525-person class (i.e . 150). Assuming the yield will be at least 70% (for R1), they'll need to make ~215 admit-offers. Given an 8-hour workday with no breaks, one admissions officer making all the calls would have to make ~27 calls/hour. But in reality, Booth has 10 associate admissions directors to spread the calls across.
