Absolutely...waiting is the worst, no matter what kind of waiting it is: waiting for an interview or waiting for the final decision...And right now, my application has went under review for only one day, I feel like it has been a week. And this's killing me...

For me it was the wait from complete to decision. I was pretty lucky that Apply-complete went by pretty fast (11 days!). Then came the 2 week wait for a decision (15 days to be exact). Seems almost instantaneous now, but at the time, every hour was painful. LOL.

11 days?! Wow! fudgebrownie, do you mind sharing your timeline?

fudgeby, stop rubbing it in :(

incidentally, any thoughts on whether or not to do the following: Since I submitted my app, Ive detailed my career goals even further, and charted a detailed roadmap. You guys think it'd be advisable to send an updated paragraph on an email to Adcom, saying here's some additional info that researching has thrown up. While my app is still under review, it'd be great if you can take note of this.

Affirmative, anyone?

How long ago did you submit?

I'm not an expert, but I would advise against that. Your actions might come off as a bit desperate or annoying. They provide you with 3 essays, 2 letters of recommendation, and your resume to showcase your past, present, and future ambitions. That's a big platform to convey your message and I don't see how a single paragraph in an e-mail would compliment that package at all. Instead, the adcom might interpret your follow up as a signal that you rushed your application.

I would save follow up e-mails like that for if you're waitlisted.

Just my 2 cents...

I'm in the same boat as you are ciduo777. I pushed submit around the same time you did and have since been checking my email every few minutes to see whether there are any updates. Worst of all, I'm not concentrating on my other apps as I should be.

Oh well, hopefully things will work out. Good luck!

Fudge, you think I'm high strung?? You were analyzing and plotting regression graphs on the applications.. sure I was analyzing time of day when admit calls come.. but still!

FYI, I also got my columbia.edu email address set-up and everything, guess it's "official".

On a side note, for those waiting, it's really pretty awesome, ha! I got an email today from a CBS alum (this is in addition to my hermes connection contact) who is currently working for the firm I listed as my target post-mba. The school seems to be VERY active in getting you set for success and building your network asap for your post-mba goals. With class not even starting for 11 months... it's truly awesome to already network with people working for the company I'm targetting. Best of luck to all.. and fudgey, you better watch it or you might get stuck single at Thanksgiving rofl

I still haven't received my luggage tag and snail mail acceptance letter! My deposit was confirmed 4 days ago. Hmph.

I got an email from a CBS alum looking to get in touch as well. Pretty cool.

Btw, has anyone who has been assigned a CBS email been able to log into it? The only thing I've been logging into is the admitted students website which is largely TBD for now.

That's weird about the luggage tag, maybe it got lost in the mail. Surely it would have made it to the West coast by now.

But really, I feel more left out not getting an e-mail from an alum!

Got an email from my interviewer saying he submitted the report today afternoon (how cool was that of him to do?!). So how long should it take for the status to flip to complete? 1 day?

No rubbing-in intended, I promise. I put my timing down to sheer luck, and i definitely hope you guys get bragging rights of your own ASAP. Nothing but love, people! :-D Also, I'm a previously rejected reapp, so I've been through the highs and lows with CBS.

LT, it would be silly of me to claim to not be high strung. I'd be laughed off this forum :P

The admitted student site says they're still generating my CBS ID, but that item was among a HEAP of new thing on my to-do list once they confirmed receipt of my deposit, including the Kroll check.

My "to-do" list grew by like 25 items after my deposit. However, most of them you can't even do until 2012. I did migrate my resume to the Columbia format though yesterday when I had downtime.
