I was told by Consirtum that March 17th was the date too. But I also received a call about Fellowship today. I got an offer from Stern with Consortium Fellowship. I applied R2 and they were ranked 2nd. USC was my #1 but I was waitlisted.

I imagine there is still a chance given they are promoting that March 17th date.

Today was draft day, I just got a call and was offered a fellowship!

It was from my 3rd ranked school. I didn't get into my second but I got into my first ranked R1 and 3rd ranked also R1.

So should the rest of us assume we didn't get fellowship if we didn't get a call or hear back yet?

Actually, just checked the website: "The Consortium notifies applicants of membership and fellowship decisions during the third week of March via mail." that would be next week. So maybe they got a running start with your application?

In researching the way it's been done in the past, the draft day happens and schools choose. Some schools are ultra quick to the draw and call their fellows ASAP but the official notification date is usually 7-10 days later. When I got my call she said I'd get the official letter in 10 days or so. Not having a call yet definitely doesn't mean you're out, sounds like it means either your school is slow to notify, or it's possible you weren't awarded.

You must be a US citizen or US permanent resident. You don't need to be in or from the USA or have previously attended US schools to get the fellowship. I went to school and live in Japan but I was able to get the fellowship because I am US citizen and was able to pass other eligibility criteria.
The other criteria is being able to demonstrate the mission of the consortium and having a bachelor's degree.

From the chats, it sounds like everyone got a decision. What I should note is that if you already got your decision earlier, you won’t be getting an additional email. In my case, I was given the fellowship at the time of admission into NYU (since it was my first, and only choice). I got official confirmation from consortium at that time. So now I didn’t get any additional confirmation and you won’t see any difference in the portal.

Does anyone know if CGSM or the University offering the Consortium Fellowship covers the costs for OP in June? Or are we expected to pay for transportation/hotel/food out of pocket?

From email today "The Consortium will pay up to $300 toward your flight. We will also cover double occupancy for students at the hotel. Those requesting a single room will be required to pay the upgrade difference. In addition to your hotel and flight, The Consortium will cover most meals during the conference. "

However, they do mention: "please do not book travel until further guidance is given. All flights must be booked through our agency. Additional correspondence is forthcoming that will include travel instructions and other important information."
