If you interviewed, are you automatically put on the waitlist? Or does it explicitly say waitlist as your decision?

Ding without interview. It's officially an R1 ding hat trick for me. I'm excited about my R2 schools though, and keeping my fingers crossed.

Its not automatic, we all could have been dinged. It explicitly says waitlist, and to look for more details in the email (which i still haven't gotten). Its better than a rejection, but I just want this process to be over. 2 wait lists this week! Time to get drunk and drown my sorrows! Congrats to everyone that got in!

Sigh!
Ding.

Grad Schools - 3
Me - 0

Maybe this is not the right time. I don't understand it. I thought I had the credentials.

Disappointed.

wait-list w/interview

Any ideas about what to add to the application?

No idea. Do you think we can interview again? Anyone know where to find waitlist stats? I'm going to get drunk tonight and figure it out this weekend.

Sorry to hear, rfc, but all hope is not lost. Just curious, why do you say the interview went poorly?

Is it just me, or are there a crazy amount of people on the waitlist?

That kind of sucks. IMO the straight ding is much easier.

It seems that they used a massive WL this year, or it's because it's still R1 and they want to wait and see?

Not sure what's the chance of getting off the WL successfully.

Nothing specific, I just didn't sell myself well. My elevator pitch took way too long so I didn't get to hit all my points. When it was Q&A time at the end he did his elevator pitch and it really showed the contrast, he sold me on him and I wasn't even buying!
