Was anyone accepted without an interview? Is the interview a mandatory step for admission? I applied in Jan, 5th and my application went "under review" in Jan 21. I didn't hear anything yet! Good luck everyone.
Guys remember Columbia is rolling admissions -- its not like other schools that have specific ding dates where you could be sitting on the edge of your chair waiting while really you'd been dinged by adcoms 3 weeks ago but they just haven't told you yet. If you haven't received word it means they haven't rendered a decision on you yet -- no reason to give up hope!

Good point. I submitted my app back in October and didn't hear back from them for 2 and half months. I had given up all hope only to receive an interview invite in January. So if you haven't heard for a few weeks I wouldn't worry too much.
Of course now I have to sit back and wait for the decision which may take them another month or two for all I know.
This is interesting - Application submitted in October and received a call on January? wow!

It might not be so surprising if it was an RD application: they first look at all the EDs, most of each are probably submitted up to the Oct. 6 deadline. I think I remember asking at an info session when is it that they start looking at RD apps, and the answer was "sometime in December".
My application went into "Interview Complete" status on 1/20. It has been over three weeks and I have yet to hear anything. I am trying to remain patient, but with each passing day it gets harder and harder. Is anyone in the same boat as me? Does anyone have an idea of what such a long deliberation means?
I went interview complete 1/26; I also haven't heard anything further. I am completely speculating here, but I think there is a Columbia Connect weekend this weekend for students who have already been admitted. I was thinking maybe the AdCom was waiting to see what the turnout was like - how many people and what the 'makeup' is (i.e. - all finance types, all entrepreneurs, all young, all old, etc.). I haven't seen many acceptances on this forum over the past week/week-and-a-half, so I thought maybe they were holding off until after this weekend? Just a thought...I could be completely wrong.
My app has been complete since 1/24. My theory: 1) Adcom is probably a bit busy preparing for Columbia Connect Saturday and 2) since the next admitted students reception is not until April, making final decisions on applications is not as high of a priority for them this week. That's just my speculation.
