My under review date was the same, 7/23. So it took them awhile to get back to me.

Has anyone in the J-term pool had any movement whatsoever this week? Really seems like a relatively quiet week on the board. As lawgone has mentioned perhaps everyone is on vacation?

Nobody has any updates?

Hey Columbiawannabe,

I interviewed on Wednesday. My status changed to interview complete around 12:00pm today. I received a call from Admissions at 1:00pm asking me for info on what I had as a backup plan if my entrepreneurial venture didn't take off (I guess the feedback from the interview was weak). After fumbling around like an idiot on the phone for 5 minutes, she asked me to submit a paragraph or two in writing with the information. I just finished writing the two paragraph essay and submitted it 10 minutes ago. I think it's a good sign they called so promptly, but I honestly sounded like I just graduated middle school on the phone. I think I got my point across in the written document though. I'll keep you posted.

Agreed. The latest USNews ranking stated that only 61% of MBA grads had job offers at the time of graduation. I think thats really making an impact now on admissions.

Yea... The only one lower in the Top 20 is UCLA. But dont panic, it is still an amazing school. Otherwise we wouldn't be working our a$$e$ off to get in.

Another tidbit about J-term from the info session that I forgot to mention is that the adcom guy said that the J-term class is "still pretty wide-open". This was in response to a woman from Argentina who was concerned that there wouldn't be much space left by the time her application was finished, near the deadline. In his comments he also implied that the size of the J-term class is more flexible than regular term (i.e., to some extent the class size will be a function of the # of high-quality applicants they receive).
