Those who got an admission, would you mind sharing if Booth is your first choice or you are still waiting on other schools? :)

Booth is tied with Wharton for me and I'm waiting on them.

Where do you "sense" a culture fit? B or W? Why?

Not sure, they both seem pretty great. If Wharton is more academic than Booth the fit might be there.

Just catching up here...

For the EA, I used Veritas GMAT prep (self-study videos and practice) and all of the GMAC materials. I completed every GMAC problem and practice test and used the Veritas GMAT material to remedy any weaknesses.

I have officially accepted my offer to Booth. For me, it was between Booth and Wharton with Booth being my first choice and Wharton my backup.

Can I ask what led you to choose Booth over Wharton? I'm in a similar situation.

Does anyone have details around the percentage "customisability" (Core Versus Electives) component of EMBA of Booth compared to MIT Sloan EMBA?
Any comparison between the two on the following parameters:
1) customisability = Core Versus Electives
2) cost (last year MIT was 165 K and Booth 185K)
3) Network in Tech and Tech Consulting
4) Any others?
Thanks

Folks, I am in. Got the admit mail.
Pumped with the stunning welcome video by Booth! Loved it!

Wish you all the best in case you are waiting or waitlisted or planning to re-try.
If you are waitlisted or dinged
Trust me, I have worked years (over a decade) for this and have been dinged long time ago and gone through the troughs of trials and tough issues in work and life. Stick in there.
For reasons of Privacy I might not openly share my profile and other details on a public forum.

Congrats. Can you share what cohort you'll be in? They shared the official schedule so it's starting to feel real!

Please give me some time on this. Need to sleep over it. Big decision. Big financial impact.
Booth > W thats my decision. Infact the way I read trends very soon it won't be HSW but HBS or HBSW.
There was much greater humility expressed by B folks. W folks were cold, stand-offish. And from what I know for Indians the bar is unequal and culling happens by GMAT/EA scores more than anything else. For those who got in at W congrats. But Please don't say "no no that's not true. It is. Have checked with enough and more folks and there are more voices than will ever appear online.
Waiting for some final info about my destination due to some personal reasons.

I didn't consider Sloan, but Booth electives are studied during the international weeks, so not a full quarter. From what I gather, there are definitely more options compared to the other schools I was considering. Some schools I considered the cohort voted on electives or the entire cohort took together. Guessing Booth can provide more options as they are done with all three locations studying together. That was a plus for me.

Last year Booth was $194K. The cost for the 2023 class is not yet confirmed.

I'm interested in pivoting to tech and know there are a ton of Booth grads at my potential target companies. My hunch is that MIT EMBA is skewed toward health care and life sciences with Boston as a huge hub for that. Are you inquiring on the EMBA cohort or alum as a whole?

Wish I had more info for you. Now that I'm thinking about it, I know very few people that considered both Booth and Sloan. I was retargeted a ton from Sloan but limited my apps, ha.

Hi!
Yes, my enquiry is around EMBA cohort.
I didn't understand the "retargeting" part. Could you elaborate a bit here?
Thank you!

Ha, sorry marketing speak! I saw instagram ads pretty frequently from Sloan. I did visit their website among others when I initially started researching schools.

You simply cannot go wrong with either Booth or Wharton, however I strongly believe that Booth is a better program, especially when it comes to the Executive MBA. Booth's culture, executive student support, amazing faculty, and program strength easily placed it at the top of my list.
Wharton has a strong program, but it relies heavily on brand perception and does not match Booth in a number of key areas.
I will also echo what another member said in this forum topic: Booth's brand is becoming more valuable every year, which is a testament to the quality of their program.

Agree with every point you made. My research till now speaking to people and studying patterns of behaviour suggest the same.

Hi Folks! I am writing to ask you a weird question... if I am being strongly encouraged by the Assistant Director of Admissions at Booth EMBA program to apply for the EMBA program by R3 deadline, should I take up the challenge?

FYI, I got called in a 1:1 virtual session this Tuesday, and now am being asked to finish all the application process by the deadline. I am concerned if my chances of being accepted will be limited due to last-minute prep/application. Any advice? Please?

Well if you are encouraged to apply and you want to apply to Booth - go ahead. This is a sufficient sign. I don't think your chances are limited. They can't gaurantee an admission. All they have said is your profile is relevant and solid for the school. Yet its also a matter of luck at the end of the day. You don't know how the dice rolls.:)

In August of your 2nd year, there will be 2 weeks time in Chicago dedicated to electives(the courses are updated every year, and you will have 1000 points to bid the ones you like). And one more thing, you are encouraged to go back to classroom for electives after graduation. This is definitely a great resource.

I can't find a reason why you shouldn't take up this challenge. You have nothing to lose but have a life-changing opportunity ahead. Of course, you will invest time in application preparation, but it will be worth it.

You are spot on. The LEAD one though not an elective runs thru most quarters I understand. Thats Just focused leadership development. And bleddy Awesome for an experienced EMBA participant. I haven't seen that as much around. Then there are electives weeks as well. Satisfied with that the data I have looked at for Booth on electives. But could always ask for more! :) Booth it is.
