Anyone out there applying (or have heard back) for Fall 08 or Winter 09? Since the GSB has a rolling admission process I got the sense that a lot of folks were applying 3-4 months in advance of the actual deadline.
For those you got in for Summer 08, how long before the deadline did you apply? How long did it take to get a reply from the GSB adcom?
I recently took my gmat and scored 670. I was planning to apply for chicago GSB part time weekend MBA program, the average gmat score is 680 for the weekend program. my undergrad gpa is 3.5 and my MS gpa is 3.6 and have 6 years work experience as a Hardware validation engineer, Should I go ahead and apply inspite of the low gmat score? I am also worried that i am applying too late. Should i wait and apply early next year, will that make a difference? people please advice, I am really confused
I scored a 610 the first time i took the gmat and scored 670(Q50,V31) the second time, my practice scores were around 700. I am not planning to take the GMAT again.
From everything I've read, the GSB really takes a holistic approach when reviewing applications. Just because you're 10 or even 50 points off their average, I get the sense that the GSB takes into account who you are, what you've done and what you'll bring to your class. If you are able to convey your strengths outside your numbers I'm sure you'll be fine!
Looking at this thread, I guess I am kind of late in the process for Fall 08 but hopefully things should turn out fine. I am balancing planning 2 weddings and a reception so things have been much slower than I hoped. I kind of relaxed and took it easy after the GMAT. Got the GSB interview today and I hope to get my app in towards the end of the month or first week of June.
rsrinivasan - one advantage of applying early is that there are more spots available. Since the GSB uses a rolling admissions system, you are competing for more spots than if you apply later. Do you mind sharing your stats with the rest of the group?
And I still havent applied for GSB and it might take till the end of the month. Just sent in my Kellogg app yesterday.
My stats: Age 30/Indian/Male GMAT -760 MS Computer Science Currently Product Manager with general management duties at a marketing company holding P&L responsibility for $10MM product line. Recos from SVP, CAO and alumni. Additional letter from CEO Unremarkable extra curriculars and acads Essays are still blah but hopefully should look good at time of application.
