sure! it was mostly everyone asking the same questions as usual like:
what is the difference between aug entry vs jan: no big difference just shorter and no internship
can you do an in-semester internship?: this was possible during the pandemic but in-person will be difficult during the first semester when you are taking core. might be manageable in later semesters when you are taking electives
how to join clubs in j-term: they have a club day in the spring
typical timeline to hear back once you apply: 6 weeks
student life: very close knit community despite being in NYC. recommended to live close to campus

does anyone know where in the portal you will see an application status update?

When you log into the application portal, you see your application listed. The status there will be Submitted. That never changes, even if you are admitted or dinged

Changes (if any) usually happen once you enter your application, the place where you have the checklist

If you’re invited to interview, the portal may or may not update. If an alumni is interviewing you, it won’t. If an Adcom or 2nd year is interviewing you, you’ll get a link there to book a slot for the interview. For Alumni interviews you have to coordinate the time on email

You receive an email once your interviewer submits your interview report. You won’t see any changes in the portal

Then 0-2 weeks after the interview, you’ll get your decision. If it’s an Admit, they either call or email you. This depends on where you are based. The portal updates as well. If it’s a Waitlist or Ding they just update the portal

The portal update happens near the top of the application page (just above your addresses)

Hopefully a previous J-Termer sees this, but also open to anyone else that's attended a Q&A session...

How brutal is that first summer semester with block weeks, etc. Do classes really run 9am-5pm for a week?! How do you even have time to absorb that, assuming the final would be on Friday...
