The moment I realized this process was taking years off my life (and potentially driving me insane) was when I started thinking "oh snap, it's friday again... Two more days before I "maybe" hear back form Johnson".

I guess for MBA applicants Friday is the new Monday.. =p

lol I remeber your nickname (moiuday) from a while back when I was worried my status was still "submitted"... Now that we are under review I wish we could go back to our previous status. ;)

Dudes/ettes, as a fellow interviewless R3 applicant, I know what you're going through. This past weekend I was really bummed thinking about all this and how I don't have a single admit yet. The usual thoughts like, "so much for my future" and "I suck".

I decided look through last year's thread, however, and discovered that the R3 applicants went through the same thing. Other than a random early invite here or there, the R3 invites didn't really start until the first week of March, and they continued right up to the decision date. One person didn't even hear anything on the d-date, and then got an invite about a week later! With respect to the timing, last year lots of people were saying, "only 2 weeks until decision day, I'm screwed." Then they got an invite that said they would have to complete their interview by a certain date (as short as 2 days) if they wanted a decision by d-day. The alternative was simply that their decision would come a little later.

This all gave me a great sense of relief. Given that the GC membership is probably stronger on average than the overall applicant pool, it seems likely that the same thing is happening this year.

Haha, the only status that matters now is 'Invited to Interview' ... in fact I think we should fill up the glass further and hope that we are attending the same class this time next year...

I visited Johnson yesterday. I was mistaken for a student and cold-called, and experienced the sweats. I mingled with several students and caught up with an old friend. I interviewed and it was very conversational. The admissions office had at about 10-15 people waiting to be interviewed. Admissions were very polite and enthusiastic. They said Round 3-ers will hear on or before March 22nd. Overall a great campus experience.

10-15 people waiting to be interviewed, thats a lot! it means several invites have gone out.
Further it seems that they are also finishing the process in the stipulated deadline...

for people who have not got interview invites - we will be dead in the next 21 days if we don't hear from them earlier.
why has no one reported any invite for such a long time? or is it that all the invites gmat clubbers should have got have already been sent out...?

The answer that all R3ers will hear on or before March 22nd sounds generic to me. If I was adcom and someone would ask me when would I hear back, I would say March 22nd because that is the stipulated deadline.

On another note, 10-15 students on a single day gives me a jittery feeling that I am not aware or a part of it.

From USN I read that there were 2276 applicants from which 507 were accepted and eventually 274 enrolled.
Cornell's eventual acceptance rate is around 22.3%, so I am guessing that maybe there were around 1200-1300 applicants who interviewed. Maybe there is still some chance...

So there's some numerics just to release some stress...

actually 10-15 is not a very big no.
year 365 days - 104 (sat + sun) - 11 (approx. holidays) = 250
admissions happen for approx. 6 months i.e. 125 days
1200-1300 interviews implies ~10 per day.
correct me if i am wrong.
