I sat in on a presentation from the former Director of Admissions at Chicago, he told us a story where he called an applicant with the intention of accepting him, but because he was so rude on the phone (he thought he was a telemarketer) the director informed him that originally he was calling to accept the person, but in those few seconds he had changed his mind.
The person ended up being rejected for rudeness, or in the case above, thinking that his admission decision was more important that others still waiting for the call.[/quote]
I beg to differ, I was getting in a day long meeting without the phone (at one of the embassies), so I just called up and was told I am in. Being rude is different than being nervous or eager to call..
