Out of all the confusion in where to apply, Duke has been the only constant thus far.

Wish me luck!

I got waitlisted in Round 2 for Duke 2010. Duke being my first choice it was disheartening, so I am planning to apply Early Applicant.

I'm in for round 1 (I'm technically still on the summer waitlist but betting it's not going to pan out).

What is the history on scholarships offered to ED candidates? I considered applying ED but then I thought if they have you captive, don't they have less incentive to offer money? Would love to hear everyone's thoughts.

Last season, no EA applicants reported any scholarship. Those who received scholarship during the regular rounds all had 760+ GMAT, which leads me to think that Duke use GMAT to determine scholarship awards after you are accepted

Since your listed GMAT is below 760 and you were WLed, it would be better to apply EA to increase your chance of acceptance (if you are set on Fuqua).

so is it not a good idea to apply EA if interested in scholarship or currently it is "unknown"?

My instincts say "No" to scholarships in EA. The available data confirms my suspicions that by applying EA and committing to attend if accepted, they have you somewhat as a captive audience. How would you even negotiate a scholarship based on receiving one at another school? You already said by appling EA that if accepted elsewhere you would decline admission in favor of Fuqua. Therefore saying I can't come unless there is money makes you look like you're waivering on your obligation. That being said, they may still offer money in EA but I would guess it's limited. Money seems to be used to lure candidates who may be considering other programs, here that is not the case. Please note this is my reasoning, not any insider info.
