I haven't been on here in months but wanted to share that I was admitted last week as well - I have accepted. From the conversation I think there could be a chance of a 2nd round of calls based on how many accept from this first group of admits. Probably this week bc of a deposit deadline early this week. Good luck to everyone still waiting!!

Were you the same person on BW that said he was accepted this week? I completed my FAFSA a long time ago. Do you think they would know that?
No I haven't posted on BW recently. I am not sure if they will know, frankly doubt it, but if they start going down the list, having your FAFSA done would be key. Will you go to BYU if not admitted to Duke?
Yeah I will. I did the app. thing two years ago too. And I told myself this was it. BYU will work out ok. It will be harder to get in the career I want and I'll likely have to do most, if not all, of the leg work, but BYU is really cheap: like 9,000 and year and they are decently ranked and have decent after MBA salaries, so I'm ok with it. I would just much rather go to Duke for every reason you can think of.
I was just offered admission off the waitlist on Tuesday afternoon. Had to accept by today and I did. Whew quite a rollercoaster and still going. Speculating but seems like there have been a couple of people off in the last couple of weeks which means they're probably no longer overbooked. Would reccommend that everyone still waiting complete their FAFSA form if they haven't, know the deadline is 6/30--could put you at an advantage if they have spots open up last minute, you'll be ready to go. Best of luck to everyone!!

Congrats on the admit! Are you M/F? Also, what kind of updates, if any, did you send in?
I am a male. I sent in two updates well two contacts. First was reaffirming that I wanted to stay on the waitlist, and why Duke and I were a perfect fit. Really brief not sure what weight this carried. My next update was to inform them of a promotion, increase in salary and my new responsibilities and how I felt that reflected my strengths and potential to contribute to the class. Honestly, I had no expectation that I would be getting in this Fall and hope that I'm not the last one off of the waitlist this Spring.
Weird. I was wondering the same thing today. Do they classify the Global institute as the first day of classes? What about student orientation? Because if they don't count any of those things in their deadline of "we have let people know that they are accepted up until the first day of classes" then we're looking at Sept. 8th. That is the first day of classes, but then you are missing Orientation on Aug. 1st and the Global Institute starting Aug. 4th. I think the Global Institute would be fairly critical.
Did they confirm that? That the start of orientation would be the last day to hear? I know that in the past other schools have made offers after regular classes had already started. Also did you ask about anymore waitlist movement?
Are you sure? From the Duke website, the calendar says that the Global Institute starts Aug. 4th. Orientation starts Aug. 1st. The admissions lady said that orientation was mandatory and so that was the last day they would accept people off the waitlist.
