Calling all ESADE M.Sc. Applicants/Admitted(2015 Intake)

Question

Hi,

I have been admitted to MIP + Master in management + CEMS MIM class matriculating in 2015.
Has anyone else on the forum applied/admitted/waitlisted for the ESADE M.Sc. programme/CEMS?

Ive submitted my application too. Today in fact. Im extremely nervous. Could you tell me your GMAT score? And what kind of an essay did you write for the question" where do you see yourself in 3-5 years from now?" . I was thinking of presenting them with a business plan but I dont know if that is a very wise decision. I need to forward my documents by the 8th - so a speedy response would be very appreciated.

Regarding the essay 'where do you see yourself in 3-5 years from now? '

Yes, presenting a 'non materialised' business plan won't be a wise decision according to me.

I have two startup companies that i founded approx two years back. Both running well. so in the essay i wrote how i plan to take the startups to new heights using the knowledge and international exposure i'll gain from the course.

Basically, I tried to explain what i am planning to do after the master's degree and how the master's itself will benefit me in materialising those plans. And i tried to stick to the '3 to 5 year' plans and not long term.

I was actually writing a more of expansion type of essay. Not a plan as such. I already have an existing business which i want to expand . So I'm just writing a plan as to what I want to do to take it forward and how the msc will help me.

i'm a 2014 passout , gonna start working with a leading IT firm,with decent acads.

Hi Nikhil149!

1. I think there is no ideal preparation time for GMAT in general. The prep time varies from person to person. There are a lot of study plans here on Gmatclub which i think you should go through.

2. Average scores for ESADE CEMS MIM can be found here : https://www.esade.edu/management/eng/pro ... nt-profile
For IE it should be around 670-80.

the current scenario in spain is not all that good,so should one consider going to spain? I've heard that the economy isnt doing all that great & hence getting jobs would be a matter of concern. What's your take on this? And do you have any idea about Fuqua's MMS? how the program is (coz i guess its not a ranked program)?

That's why i am doing the CEMS program along with the M.Sc. at ESADE. You have to take up an internship as a part of the curriculum.
I have heard that the economy is not doing that good in Spain.

Regarding the Fuqua MMS program, it is not listed in the rankings but the reputation of the university is good.
I applied for the MMS but unfortunately they rejected my application! It is a very competitive!

You should take time to research regarding all the courses before applying!

I'm currently filling up my application for esade's msc in management + Cems mim.Could you throw some light upon how to go about the "Where do you see yourself in 3-5 years ?" essay?I have read in your post that you have a couple of startups..So have you told in the essay that you want to study and then be back ? or like work there?
Apart from that could you share your profile?GMAT score..Converted GPA?

In the interview they asked me about my future plans in detail.

But, the essay questions asks for the next 3 to 5 years and not immediately after the course. So undertaking a full time position after the course and simultaneously continuing to work on my expansion plans is also a possibility. and those expansion plans could be executed after 3 to 5 years of the completion of the course.

This is just my view of looking at the question.

prernagulati Congratulations on getting selected for the interview.

The interview start with a case study, in which you'll be given a case(in my case with graphs and statistical data) and you'll be asked to prepare answers to the questions asked and present in front of the interviewer.

Then after that the interview starts. The questions the interviewer asked me were to get a better understanding of me. They also picked out individual content from my essays and CV and clarified details regarding it.

All in all you have to know your Essays and CV very well. Most of the interview is from both of them.
