There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
Late response - but applied to Consortium R1. Was a few days behind, but it still made it out to the schools within a week, which was great.
Applied to Ross, Johnson, Tuck, Marshall, Anderson, and Darden.
Fingers crossed! Did my interview at a member school. I emailed for it on Monday, did the interview on Thursday, evaluation submitted by Friday. Couldn't have gone smoother.

Are the interview questions fairly basic? Why MBA? Goals? What other questions am I missing?
Hey MissTee, welcome to the boards and especially to this consortium thread. We haven't been too active here as of late, but I suspect as the deadline begins to near and interview invites begin to roll in this place will be jumping.
Out of curiosity, what other schools are you looking at? Are you also applying to Columbia?

@VictoryMBA I'm applying to NYU, USC, & UT-Austin....still debating about adding one other one. What about you? Are you applying also?

Total interview was 45 mins. Half was The Consortium questions, other half were school-specific questions. I actually emailed my interviewer my response to essay #2, so she didn't ask anything about my commitment to The Consortium. Otherwise, pretty standard questions, a few tailored to my experience but nothing unexpected.
Ya, I'm applying to Tuck, Yale, NYU, Berkeley, Cornell, and Michigan via consortium. I'd love to go to any school on my list, but being in nyc would be amazing.

Oh, and I had my consortium interview at a member school as well, but it was during a diversity workshop. My interviewer didn't realize it was a consortium interview until the very end.
I applied round 1 this year - anyone hear back from Cornell yet regarding interviews, etc? They're my top choice
Cornell is doing separate interviews?
I think all schools may have an additional interview besides just the Consortium interview. Thats what an email from Berkeley said...

I think it varies by school. If your Consortium interview was with a member school adcom member, that school may not require an additional interview as is the case with Cornell. A couple programs, such as McCombs, don't require an additional interview.
In some cases where a Consortium applicant has interviewed elsewhere, we may be in touch with you for an in-person interview or telephone follow-up discussion. These invitations will be going out shortly. You should interpret this interview invitation as a positive sign. If you are NOT contacted for a Darden interview, it means that we have all the information we need to help us make an admissions decision. Admission decisions will post with Darden's Round 1 decisions, January 12.

Interview = positive sign No interview = we know you suck
I had my consortium interview with the first school I visited just to have it done. My consortium interview would have counted for all the schools I'm applying to but I went ahead and self initiated interviews at the other schools I visited. Just finished with Kelley yesterday.I hope it went well as I am now totally all about kelley even though I was there during a good old fashioned snow storm! my advice for people concerned about ranking the schools on the application, visit!! your favorite will become glaringly obvious.
Have any r1 applicants received an interview invite? I am specifically interested in knowing about Ross and Stern. Both have indicated that they've set aside a specific interview day for diversity/Consortium candidates in February, which seems a bit late for r1 admissions. I am curious to know whether we're all being lumped into the February batch.

The email I received from Ross said January:
Quote:
Greetings from Michigan! As the Consortium’s Admissions contact at Ross, I’m just sending you a quick note to let you know that we’re excited that you applied to Ross in the Consortium’s first application round. Congratulations on completing this stage of your MBA journey! The Ross Admissions team will be reviewing your application materials in the coming weeks, and we’ll begin extending Ross-specific interview invitations to Consortium candidates in the latter part of January.

Got an invite today from Darden.
About Ross - because I am waiting for their's too - I haven't heard anything. I responded to Jon Fuller (who sent the email saying thanks for the app blah blah) and asked him about the details - he said it takes their office awhile to process them and invites may be going out as late as the end of January! But he did say they hope to have them finished by mid January, if there is no delay in processing...

I received word from Michigan on Monday that the interview day has been oushed to February. It was in response to an inquiry, and he didn't provide any additional details.
Got into tepper...now I'm waitin on the rest...they gave me scholarship money in my acceptance letter. I ranked them 6th, but I want to focus on tech in my career and the program is known for it.
for the programs that haven't sent me any notifications at all, I went into their online applications and clicked on forgot my password and typed in the email address I used for consortium app. Pretty much all the schools went and created an account for me and filled in the basic details of the app. Its pretty neat, u Guys should check it out.
Congrats on your acceptances. I took your suggestion and accessed my Tuck profile (the only school i'm particularly interested in). Good thinking. It mentioned that my transcripts were missing, which I found odd, though the status reads complete.
Any thoughts regarding why this page is so inactive? I know that more people applied to the Consortium's first round, and as we are dealing with different dates than the conventional candidate, it would be helpful to know whether we're on pace.

My Darden recommendations said "incomplete". I emailed the contact for apps and she said consortium apps don't always hit indicators to make certain fields "complete", but she also said not to worry, my app was complete.

Congrats. So, can you still get a Consortium fellowship on top of that (for CMU) or is that fellowship money that you received?
