There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
I have been recently advised by a good friend of mine to reapply for Harvard and Stanford Business with a 770 GMAT score but a 3.01 GPA from undergrad. Last year I applied for Harvard, Stanford, Cornell, Berkeley, UCLA, UCS and Columbia.
I got rejected from Harvard and Stanford Straight out, However Cornell give me an interview but later did not go forward with my candidacy.
I got waitlisted for Berkeley (Haas Business School) but later got an acceptance offer. --- I rejected it.
I got rejected from UCLA, Accepted in USC (University of Southern California) -- I rejected it.
I also got accepted to Columbia for their J-Term -- I accepted the offer!
Right now, since I have 6 months to Start Columbia, I have been thinking about my friend's advise and kind of taking it seriously and I want to give Harvard and Stanford another try. What do you all think, Should I apply again? As I have been just doing applications all year long anyways but when Columbia and Berkeley gave me my first offer I couldn't resist. I felt so relief for some time. However, It took me a great deal to say no Berkeley since it was always my dream school, but then I had this thing in me that I only want to go to Ivy League and even if it takes a hundred tries to get there I will do it, at one point it became an end goal for me and now again life has put me in this roundabout where I have to either just settle for Columbia or apply for Harvard and Stanford once again.
