also applying R1... only a week left! :shock:

i have a question about post-college extracurriculars. since i graduated only 2 years ago and i have spent all of 2009 (literally) preparing for the GMAT and applications, i have not had a chance to participate in any organized extracurricular activities that i can list in that section of the HBS application. any advice? is this a big problem that i should address it in the "additional information" section of the app?

i'm in a similar boat... not really sure what to do about it. i know im not going to address it in the extra essay, but i dont want to leave it completely blank either.

Just curious, is there no longer an optional essay available at HBS? If so, what did you do to add important information non-pertinent within the actual essays?

After the 'essays' section on the app, it has 'additional information', which is where you would put the optional essay.
Quote:
Use this section to include any additional information that you believe is important for the MBA Admissions Board to have in evaluating your application, but that you were unable to include because of the constraints of the online application.

Please limit your additional information to the space in this section. Do not send HBS any additional materials (e.g., additional recommendations, work portfolios, etc.), as they will not be considered in your application and will delay processing of your application.

Wow, I just relized that I had stopped receiving automatic updates when someone comments on this thread. Good luck to everyone! I am submitting today after calling all of my fulltime and part time employers to confirm final pay and titles.

When it comes to the wait, I keep thinking nevember is not that far out, is it? Judging on previous years interview invites should start raining in a month. Does anyone have a date for those?

me: "i'm too nervous to hit submit... did you feel this way when you applied to your schools? (dental schools)
girlfriend: "not really.. i just went over my app a few times and then said godspeed and hit submit"

well, godspeed.. lol. just submitted. i need to get on my last recommender... hopefully he submits tomorrow and not on oct 1st.
