I have a pretty solid backup plan. If it's not HBS, it'll be Booth with a $25k / yr scholarship or MIT. Still waiting for HBS, although the money is PRETTY tempting ......

Good luck to all !

Is there a reason you have chosen to make this worse for yourself. Sadist much?

as you can see, no backup. Life or death, baby.

Of course it's not so much "Life" or "death" as it is "life with epic snob appeal" or "life" :)

HA HA HA HA....epic snob appeal....funny

I'm an older applicant that is not in Finance. Bschool isn't necessarily the right move for me, so I went all or nothing. :p

I was in a meeting when they released R1 decisions, but I finally returned to my desk and logged into my account. I click on the "your decision is now available link" and as the page pops up and loads, some guy walks in to discuss some work issues.

I had the letter sitting up on my screen but couldn't see it while this guy was rambling on for a few minutes about God knows what.

Moral of the story: make sure you have at least a few minutes of alone time.

I think you will get in...I hope I;m not jinxing...well it's already too late for me to jinx because your decision has been made...Anyway, the 1-school strategy works, esp. if u mentioned in interview. Good luck!

they never asked "where else are you applying?" or anything that could lead to it...probably because they would think "why is this man applying to ANY business school? "

Must have been a really special application ...... R3 is very tough to get into and you must be really lucky.

DING DING DING

The MBA Admissions Board sincerely appreciates your interest in our program, and recognizes the considerable potential and strength evident in your application. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer you a place in the MBA Class of 2012.

The MBA Admissions Board carefully and thoughtfully assesses each application. Ultimately, it is a matter of numbers - due to the large number of applications we receive, we are unable to admit many strong candidates - candidates who have excellent credentials and who demonstrate strong promise for careers in management.

In reviewing this round of applications, we saw a great deal of talent, accomplishments and energy. Please know that composing a cohort with maximum texture and range in experience and skill set is an extremely difficult task, and not a reflection of your qualification as an applicant. We thank you for considering our MBA Program, and please accept our best wishes for future success.

Decisions are up. No email yet for me (and, sadly, no offer to this R1 waitlist candidate).
