Every application is assigned a profile score on the basis of the GMAT score, Essay, Recommendation, Academics and Job Experience. On the basis of profile score, a cut off is decided and that's how candidates are shortlisted.

They don't disclose this, but I am sure it won't be a straight forward percentage calculation, it has to be something scientific and well thought off. That being said, if you have a GMAT score of 720+, you can expect an interview call atleast.

No, they don't differetiate between the two and normalise the scores of both. So, it's basically the percentile thing which is relevant, be it GMAT or GRE, rather than the score per se.

Oh cool. My GMAT is 740. But I think I have screwed up on my long and short term goal essay. Any pointers on how to prepare for those, in case I do get a call? Any relevant article etc would be much appreciated. I know this is a little difficult to answer question.

A lot of aspirants start their interview preparation well before they receive the interview invite, solely because they feel a week’s notice or 5 days notice is not enough. However, there are a lot of candidates who prepare in that short time and ace their interviews. It totally depends upon you when you want to start with your preparation. Good luck

Your best chance is by sticking to what you have written and not shifting the goal post as it may present you as unsure and confused. Better to build a story around what you have written, be well informed about your stuff and sound confident on what you believe. No goal is a bad goal, you just need to be sure about it.
