Hey
I have 3 years of experience
Still very early
I gave gmat 3 days back and got a score of 585
I don't think I can give another attempt before R2 with an improvement
But I wanted to understand the application process
So is it fine that I apply for this R2 now. But then if I apply again next year for R1 then, what weightage/consequence of becoming an reapplicant hold?
Basically i want to understand if there is any advantage or disadvantage of being a reapplicant
I believe its always better to apply as a first time applicant. For reapplicants, there is more scrutiny on the improvements in your profile since you last applied. So why put yourself in that situation when you know that you are not applying with your best application. Unfortunately your current score is very low and not worth taking the risk for.
That said, the good thing is, you are still a younger applicant and can wait a year before you jump into the ring. That will allow you to improve your GMAT score and get more work experience which will enhance your profile.
There is no such thing as applying for the sake of getting the experience of applying. Stay alert for the next 7-8 months, learn about the admissions process and how to make yourself stand out and you will be good to apply as a first time applicant next year, with a larger chance of success.
