I recently received an ISB R1 admit and wanted to share what my application + interview prep process looked like in case it helps others.

I worked with Arijit (ISB alumnus) for guidance on both essays and interviews. For the essays, the biggest value was in story structuring—understanding which experiences to highlight, how to position my profile, and where my real strengths and gaps were. This helped improve the clarity and direction of my application a lot.

For the interview, I was given a large set of generic and profile-specific questions, followed by two mock interviews with detailed feedback. As a result, a significant portion of my actual interview felt familiar, which helped me stay calm and structured during the real thing.

Overall, the process was:
  • Very direct and honest
  • ISB-focused in strategy
  • Quite hands-on
Just sharing in case it’s useful for anyone preparing this cycle. Happy to answer questions in comments.

Hi everyone I could use some advice.
I submitted the resume I used for my other applications, which doesn’t follow the ISB-specific format. I’m hoping they might flag it as non-compliant and ask for a re-upload.

Should I wait for them to reach out, or mail the admissions team now with the corrected resume?
Does the resume have to be in the exact format they shared? Or do we just need to ensure the gpa, links or any other information which they mentioned should not be a part of the resume, to not be there?

I make some page layout changes to ensure my resume fits in a page.

Hi everyone, does ISB not allow LOR to be copy pasted ? It has to be typed into the sections?

Hi @WA@nno2094,

They will anyway reach out to you and ask you to submit the correct version. But, you should also email the resume rightaway.

Good luck!
