Does anyone have the Kellogg essays and deadlines? The essays used to be on their website but are no longer posted.

Here you go...

Essays:

1. All applicants must complete A OR B as appropriate:
A - Master of Business Administration applicants only: Briefly assess your career progress to date. Elaborate on your future career plans and your motivation for pursuing a graduate degree at Kellogg (one-two pages double spaced).
B - Master of Management and Manufacturing applicants only: Briefly assess your career progress to date. How does the MMM program meet your educational needs and career goals? (one to two pages double spaced).
2. Each of our applicants is unique. Describe how your background, values, academics, activities and/or leadership skill swill enhance the experience of other Kellogg students. (one to two pages double spaced).
3. How have your past and current leadership experiences prepared you for Kellogg? What leadership areas are you hoping to develop through your MBA experience?(one to two pages double spaced).
4. Applicants must answer 2 of the below essays. (Re-applicants must answer question 4D and 1 other essay).
4A - Outside of work I…
4B - I wish the Admissions Committee had asked me…
4C - Describe the most challenging professional relationship you have faced and how you handled it.
4D - (Required essay for re-applicants only)—Since your previous application, what are the steps you’ve taken to strengthen your candidacy?

Nope, I don't. As far as my limited knowledge goes, it isn't up on the site yet. Anyways, the word limit for for essays 4 A, B, C and D says 2 - 3 paras double spaced. Isn't that a little vague? Given my lack of succinctness, I can make 3 paras drag on for 3 pages! Any thoughts on this would be highly appreciated.
(Rhyme, Pelihu, Lepium - are you listening :)?)

i am in for R1 as well... on a related note, anybody know whether K cares if you visit the school or not?... i don't think i am going to have the time to visit...

In for R1...K's essays are going to be my first :)

Also, what are the main "brownie point" categories for K? I have heard Team work and that community service gets you some noticed at K- any other feedback?

I actually have problems with having to drag a couple of paragraphs into 4 pages (Stanford's app. was the most painful one I had to prepare), so I can't help too much. I'll try, anyway:

1) YOU choose the important parts rather then having the reader choose from the 3 pages you wrote.

2) Edit / chop, etc.

3) Go over the limit by about 10% (if in words) or use 1.7-1.8 spacing instead of double spacing.

That's it. That's all I have.

Thanks! I do wonder what the average GMAT score is in the top schools for females... too bad b-schools will never disclose such stats... :roll:

So I am working on these essays but want to make sure I am picking a suitable layout but also want to maximize space available. Now I know they say double spaced but whats the opinion on Font, font size, and margins. I mean someone could do 2 pages with 12pt arial with 1.25" margins and get far fewer words than someone using 11pt times new roman with 1" margins.

Anyone have an advice on this.

All the professional opinions I have read state not to use less than 11pt font. Obviously you want to make it reviewer friendly.

you probably shouldn't go lower than 12 pt for Times, but Arial 10 is still readable... just funky properties of fonts...

I would definitely go with 1" margins... or 0.7...

I think Times New Roman 10pt is perfectly readable. Well, It better be 'cause If it isn't I am so screwed :(
