OMG! What happened over here today? So many great applicants getting dinged. I know nothing about the program at Sloan (except that it involves a lot of math and wasn't for me) so I don't really know what went wrong. Best of luck to everyone with their other apps!

Dinged as well. MIT was really my top choice. I got interviews from HBS, Wharton, Chicago, Kellogg. I guess class size is too small. And they admit percentage of that in the first round. So it is very competitive. Anyway I guess it is better to get the ding without the interview..

That's baffling, class size is small but the acceptance rate should be higher than HBS and in part with Wharton. Has anyone been invited to interview on Monday? ? Anyone?

Got dinged at sloan. Was one of my best apps. I would have been happy had I even been given the chance to interview. Well I agree that the indian from india tag could have led to this. My work ex is very unique (I know most people out here have a unique work-ex) and I am en engineer who moved onto sales and in 3.5 years of my career, currently heading a business unit with revenues of more than $5mill. And I'm not into IT.

Even a waitlist would have been consoling.

The carnage on the first page of this thread is something to behold. A lot of the dings have gotten interviews at H/W/S and beyond. I'm baffled as to how they select candidates...

And I believe Sloan has never given out decisions this soon. I am not even sure if a careful thought was given to my application. I can feel the pain of a ding and I know another one is in the waiting from Tuck.

I guess it's back to the waiting game now. I hope they send interview invites (or even a ding) before the holidays. I'm still trying to decide if I should apply to additional schools for R2 and a sign from MIT would be super helpful.

Anyone else in the same boat? The thought of more essays is making my head hurt...

Hey I applied to the LFM program, Indian male...BE in Mechanical Engineering....dont know what my percentage score converts to GPA wise. Work for a packaging machinery firm. Age 28. Deal with a lot of manufacturing and design issues. Have worked on 4 projects which have patents pending on them. And developed a sealer which is the one and only in the world. Great now that I have tooted(is that a legit word? well I am using it anyways) my own horn I had an attempt at grad school which went sour real quick. And my gmat performance was less than stellar. Well below last years median. Did you get a chance to go down to the LFM ambassador program? Also my application status remains submitted and has not changed. Any news from yourside?

There is no news from MIT for a long time

Ya, it's definitely crazy-making. I think earlier on this thread someone mentioned that MIT sent lots of invites right after New Year's last year, so I'm hoping for news next week. Hopefully they'll drop invites all in one batch rather than dragging it our regionally, which has also been mentioned as a possibility.
