I might be in for R1. I have very little community service experience though as I spent a lot of my time studying for the CFA. I might have to wait until next year.

Good luck, everyone. It's a pity I'll already have graduated before you folks start at Stern, but let me tell you that Stern is an absolutely wonderful place and as ridiculous as it sounds for a business school, there is a lot of substance behind Stern marketing itself as "down to earth" and community-oriented.

Please feel free to reach out for general school specific advice, or if you'll be coming to visit campus and want to chat.

A pity for you maybe!

solaris1 should be great to help you folks. I am still probably in touch with things, but more know what it is like to recruit from the school than how it is under the reign of Peter Henry.

They have been relatively stable for years, so drafting on last years should not be a problem.

FWIW, when I attended the Stern tour a few weeks ago there was a presentation at the end about admissions and they presented the same essays as last year. Mind you, I didn't specifically ask them to confirm that they were the essays for 2011 application, but that seems implied.
