I wrote to Ross to ask whether I got any scholarship and they replied that 'You weren't awarded any scholarship at this time, but that does not mean we won’t give out more scholarships in Round 2 and 3.'.

Anyone here knows if someone got accepted in R1 with no scholarship, and received scholarship in R2/ R3 ? Thanks

fiven,
Thanks for your query. Just wondering, what are the factors for adcoms to award merit based scholarships? I heard from some poster that high Gmat and URMs play a huge influence, is it true and any ideas about the decision process? I asked this in my alum interview, but the interviewer was vague. So if R1 admitted without scholarships, accept and wait for slim chance to get some $ in later rounds when some admits with $ declined and scholarships open up. Any advice how to improve chance for scholarships and how many students receive scholarships historically at Ross?

Commiseration to those dinged and hope those on WL get off it in later rounds.

kingkreep has been awfully quiet...wonder if he has an update for us...i wonder how many admits are yet to be contacted....5, 10, 50?

Sorry guys - I was in class. Duty calls, you know. Anyway, I just heard from the admissions folks. They are done calling/e-mailing people, so for the ones who have not already heard - the result is probably a WL/Ding. Sorry I don't come with better news.

Thanks King, do you think they will release the online decisions earlier than Midnight tonight?

I think they've got a programmed timeline to send a mass email out at 1201am and won't change it. Frankly, it didn't make sense to sit on decisions for this whole week, so why would they suddenly change their way of thinking and release early? The whole thing baffles me.

For the sake of next year's applicants, were there any Super Interview Saturday invites that didn't get an offer (or scholarship?)

I attended Super Saturday and wasn't admitted. I'm honestly a little stunned. I thought my interview went pretty well.

Were you a common profile by any chance?

I'm not sure what that means. I of course had an extremely unique, well crafted profile. :)

In all seriousness, I had a 770 GMAT, 7 year W/E, OK extracurriculars. I guess I relaxed more than I should have when Jon Fuller said that everyone at Super Saturday was very likely to be admitted. I was under the impression that I would have to bomb the interview to get dinged, and was obviously mistaken.

"MC" your profile simpy reinforces the idea that the MBA admissions process is HIGHLY subjective.

That's unfortunate. On the face of it that profile looks pretty impressive to say the least. When I said "common profile" I meant in terms of work/life experience e.g; Indian IT Male, White Male in IBanking/Consulting. I'm no expert on the admission process or what aspects of an applicants' profile are most desirable, but perhaps if you've got a relatively common/popular WE background they were looking to diversify a little more. I can't really think of any other reason why someone with your stats would've gotten rejected save for a bad interview which you noted wasn't the case.

Either way, I'm sure you'll get into several of your other top choices this cycle. However this doesn't bode well for me, I've got a similar GMAT score, significantly less work experience and am applying to R2 as an international (Canadian). I'm starting to feel less and less optomistic about my chances for admission and I haven't even found out if I'll be granted an interview yet.

Gotcha...I don't come from a common profile like you mentioned. I think my biggest knock is lack of professional leadership given the large amount of experience. But that was all there before the SS invite. I suppose it's possible that the interview didn't go as well as I thought it did.

Like lolo says, it's a highly subjective process. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Also keep in mind that some people, not saying you, with high stats may erroneously believe those stats alone will gain them entry while neglecting other parts of the app. A friend of mine applied to Ross last year with high stats and had the mentality that the stats alone would be enough. He did not put too much effort into the other parts of his app and was subsequently denied.

Did anyone notice that the application status page on the website is changing?

I was apparently denied or WL as did not receive any call and the below links just appeared there:
View Application Data
View Credentials

What called my attention is that the information mentions I applied to Tauber institute and I didn't. Is that possible that a mistake like this could have influenced my decision?

I was admitted and my info on wolverineaccess has the same stuff... it also has the same links for an old Rackham application from 7 years ago (I was denied then). So, I have no idea how to read the info there...

Yeah i have those links too which weren't there this morning. They are probably getting ready to post WL and Ding results...

MC,

I am gobsmacked that Ross didn't make you an offer with $ given your impressive stats and invite to SSat. You would make a superb candidate to most BSchool classes. Hope things will work out for you elsewhere and your application is received with more appreciation. Good luck.

I am in the same boat, I would like to understand the likelihood of someone getting a scholarship later in the process?

Does anyone know when we have to provide the deposit and decision by? Thanks!
