That's unfortunate. On the face of it that profile looks pretty impressive to say the least. When I said "common profile" I meant in terms of work/life experience e.g; Indian IT Male, White Male in IBanking/Consulting. I'm no expert on the admission process or what aspects of an applicants' profile are most desirable, but perhaps if you've got a relatively common/popular WE background they were looking to diversify a little more. I can't really think of any other reason why someone with your stats would've gotten rejected save for a bad interview which you noted wasn't the case.
Either way, I'm sure you'll get into several of your other top choices this cycle. However this doesn't bode well for me, I've got a similar GMAT score, significantly less work experience and am applying to R2 as an international (Canadian). I'm starting to feel less and less optomistic about my chances for admission and I haven't even found out if I'll be granted an interview yet.
