On a different note, for those on the adcom, it must be so much fun calling accepted students and generally being the bearer of good news.

I don't know what causes someone to be more unproductive at work, knowing you've been admitted and you're out of there in 6 months or anxiously waiting to hear a phone call and desperately searching for some kind of indication of when to expect that call?

The uncertainty is miserable...

well being in that situation combined is the worst.. being admitted to 1 school but waiting to hear about your preferred school..

but in the situation above i believe the latter is more unproductive

My roommate does those calls as an alum for a much lesser school. He says people are surprisingly sedate about it and almost defensive because part of the script he uses includes asking if they plan to attend. I personally am wondering what crazy thing I am going to say. There is a story I haven’t lived down with my family where I talked about negotiating a job offer, but when the call came I immediately blurted out “excellent I’ll take it” and had to negotiate like mad after.

Hi guys,

I'm a current student at Ross, just reading this to kill a little time while on spring break.

Last year calls started going out two days before the deadline. All calls finished on the day of the deadline in the early afternoon, and then all the ding emails went out around five on the day of the deadline. There is NO order in which they make the calls, not by last name, not by region (although they will make an effort to call during business hours for internationals in different time zones), not by scholarship/no scholarship... nothing.

Best advice to you all is to have a great weekend with your friends and family and get back to forum-hawking on Monday around 9. As soon as the first call goes out, you'll see it here or on the BW boards, at which time you can recommence stressing ;)

Good luck everyone, hope to see you next year.

Thank you Zero.

I'll try to do not think about this during the weekend. Maybe it's not going to be sooo hard because it's carnival in Brazil.

I was a R1 candidate and some posts here remind me of my own neurosis that I experienced prior to release day. On top of that, a prankster coworker teased me that he will pretend to make a Ross call and give me nice little surprise (more likely a heart attack). Good luck to you all. Just make sure you are not driving while taking the call. :)

I say we get together and create a rock band-style video for the Ross adcom. We could sing the song "I waaaaaaaant youuuuuuuu to want me....I neeeeeeeeeed youuuuuuuu to need me...I'm beeeeeegin you to love me!"

Hey Guys,

I know the wait is killing! I am counting minutes here.

On a side topic, what is your take on the new Dean Alison Davis-Blake?

Since you guys love the status change stuff, here is an interesting change on that front: I have not been able to access the "friends" site where the admissions decision link was located since Weds or Thursday when I set up my Umich email address and registration on the iMpact site. Now I have access to my friends account again and the view decision link is back there. Perhaps they are setting up for go time.
