I got admitted with $$$, was gonna apply to a few T25/15 in r2. I knew my profile wasn't going to get any $ from those schools. So I committed when I got the acceptance email.

Exactly, many have got admits from T15 and T25 but got WL from Simon. Very weird approach from them this year

This is totally a pathetic move. So they are unclear about their yield and want to keep students in limbo. I didn’t put all these efforts into the application and score good on GMAT to get waitlisted at simon of all schools. Just moving on
I think this is with all schools no? From speaking with multiple admits, they committed to Simon for the ROI and the scholarship money that they recieved. That said on admitted student weekend, I did meet multiple "international students - with green cards". So I think they are just pooling candidates in the WL pool.

Me I want to really understand their metric. You’ll do an interview and they’ll assure you you’re a great fit and they’ll still waitlist you even after having good profiles.
Who are they now admitting
I think you're right to an extent. Based on my insider knowledge, the class of 2027 is full or near full, assuming 2027 intake is the same as 2026. I personally don't think its adcom not making good enough decision, but rather the current state of the economy in the united states. I think that the generous "$$$" that Simon is giving + the LCOL at rochester, students are just taking the cheaper deal.
Assuming you get into Tepper/Johnson, they give you only no $ or $$ out of 75k annually vs Simon giving you $$$ out of 55k, for most economically minded MBA student its a no brainer. With international hiring absolutely taking a beating this year, I think Simon received alot more commits than they expected, hence the sudden surge of WL applicants. Hence I'm expecting the increase in the yield numbers. From other admits, I felt that the admits with multiple offers were all leaning Simon due to the $$$ in weight.

We will get to know. If they have not rejected anyone then they are clearly confused and want to protect their yield
I am with the theory that they do not have enough resources to make a good enough decision. Protecting yield is a very tricky game and most admissions directors lack sufficient information to make a well educated decision, at least that’s what I heard from former admissions directors. There are so many variables that the game is usually not worth playing.
But... I can be completely wrong. 😇
If any of you guys decide to apply/attend for class of 2028 feel free to dm me here.
