Simon is really a good school to study Finance. However the tuition fee is too high whereas the maximum scholarship is 20,000 usd. Correct me if I were wrong

i agree that the tuition fee is very high, however, i do not recollect seeing anywhere that the maximum scholarship is 20,000 usd, please do share the link to the information.

Yep, I meet two people who applied to Simon, fall 2012, they were awarded 17,000 and 20,000 respectively and one of them told me about that policy.
the tuition fee ~ 60,000 usd, if I got 20,000 I cannot afford my study :(
Btw, Are you going to apply to University of Florida ? the tuition fee seems much more less expensive ?

i strongly urge you to go ahead and apply to simon, if you go through past forums, mba and ms for simon you can see candidates receiving higher scholarships, also once admitted there could be research positions or something similar available.
no, ive applied to simon and duke.
is university of florida highly placed ?
because university repute matters a lot to me.

However the opportunity to get scholarship is very different between MBA and MSF
Could you evaluate my profile and suggest for me some universitys ? : GMAT 730, three internship positions, GPA 3,3, lot of extracurricular activities
Honestly I only have 30,000 usd so that I am quite worried about financial aid

you are correct, but dont hold back, again applying doesnt cost much apart from time.

Im a business administration (finance) graduate from india, 650 gmat, 1 year full time work exp by the time i join, plenty of part time work exp, also started my own small ngo, and authored a research paper on the stock market which is going to be published soon

Hey Berry211,

congratulations on the interview call !
I had an advanced interview about 2 months ago (before i submitted my application) with a faculty member.
It was fairly informal, conversation based about what i am doing now and what i plan on doing in the future, and how the course fits into the plan and help me reach my target.

the interview also gave me a chance to get a better understanding of the course, and so do ask any questions you might have in mind.

also, when did you submit your application ?

Hey sah35 !

yes i asked them, about the decision, and they told me I should expect it somewhere around the second week of december. Thats like 3 weeks from now. But I think You should receive a decision before that, the interviewed you ages back!

I submitted my application on oct 9th, and had an interview on 20th.. i get.. i was getting anxious too.. where all have you applied? you got any decision?

well yes, my interview was a lot earlier , but it was an "advance interview" and i only submitted my complete application on the 12th of october. When i contacted adcom a week ago they told me it would be of weeks before i heard from them, so i guess we both should hear around the same time!
I've applied to Duke, for the MMS program.
what about you ?

I've got a bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from India
650 Gmat.
a couple of internships and some social service. nothing huge.
currently working full time, by next may, will have 1 year full time experience.
