Hey I applied and my application just changed status to under review! Its very exciting where are you from? I'm a senior graduating from Ithaca College in upstate NY.
I have been selected to interview on-campus for the MS Finance program. The problem is that I live in Atlanta, and can't really miss work to fly out to Rochester during the week. Does anyone know how they approach this problem? Also, can anyone tell me what to expect during the interview?
applied r1, admitted, and accepted. i'll post more details if anyone cares. been to a few of their events and it's a great school with EXTREMELY helpful staff, professors, and alumni.
I don't know how long acceptances go to but I got my acceptance online today!!!!!
My interview was actually for MBA at the time but I switched it to MS Finance the next week. At the interview they don't test your knowledge on finance at all. This really is a personality test to see if you will fit in, if you are there for the right reasons, and you will have a chance to excel. They ask you about key points on your resume and be sure to be able to tell what your learned from each event/accomplishment. Have stories about good group work and failed group work and how you went about correcting the problem. Know your resume inside and out and bring extra copies to give them just in case. They ask you why Simon and why know which is tricky. Be honest about why Simon but do not say now purely because of the economy its a common mistake. I used the idea that it was always my plan and it fit my goals as I see them falling into place now. I had an hour interview in the morning with the assistant director and a short 20 minute one at the end of the day with the director. The biggest thing is have a good answer to why Simon and why now. They also ask you what direction and field you are looking into. Be yourself and be sincere and you will be fine. The final thing to remember is to have 3 or 4 good questions to ask they want to know that you have an interest and are really thinking about the school. A good question is what type of students succeed at Simon. I finished it off with a question about area sports teams which was great because my interviewer is a big fan!!!
Westsew-waitlisting isn't the end of the world and I clicked on your profile and saw that you got accepted into Cornell, congrats on that! If you need any information about the town Cornell is in which is Ithaca, NY I can help you out with that as I am a senior undergrad at Ithaca College just across town.
