The only logical reasoning behind dinging interviewed applicants but putting on w/l non-interviewed ones is that more interviewed applicants failed somehow their interviews than w/l seats were planned for by the school.....But this is hard to imagine too since some interviewed applicants here said they thought they did well on their interviews. Of course the interviewer could very well have the opposite opinion on how an interview went, but in most cases isn't the understanding of the feeling as to how it went in agreement?
Basically, I'm saying in this scenario, (putting on a w/l non-interviewed applicants) the ding of interviewed ones is probably solely on the interview. Is anyone else confused?

I think another way you could look at WLing applicants w/o an interview is that AdCom is just pushing their apps to R2 because they did not have enough time or they want to see how the class fills out (i.e., non-interviewed WLed applicants are borderline candidates but AdCom is not sure what R2 looks like yet).

yea, I don't really get the W/L without interview thing... its really not that much extra work for them to actually interview the candidates since its all alumni interviews. I think its a bit irresponsible of them if its a timing issue.
I actually thought my Stanford interview went better than my HBS interview, but I guess I was wrong!
From what I hear, Stanford doesn't have a problem with dual Stanford/Stanford UG/MBA, since a lot of my classmates are now there at the GSB. I have a feeling they might be waiting to see what R2 looks like. I have 3 years of i-banking experience and 1.5 years of corp strat/biz dev, so I have a feeling they might be looking to see what other "banking types" they get in R2 to compare me against. ***SIGH*** It is better than an outright ding, but I am more confused than anything else . . . 
)
